South Peru. Republic gold 8 Escudos 1837 CUZCO-BA UNC Details (Tooled) PCGS, Cuzco mint, KM167, Fr-91. A noteworthy one-year South Peruvian design located with much more frequency on the silver 8 Reales. The tooling consists of a patch of short scrapes in the field above the O in CUZCO, otherwise, this example is decidedly attractive displaying original surfaces that contain ample mint freshness that flashes with light when tilted. Representatives of this desirable type coin are rarely located with this much detail that allows for proper appreciation of the legendary design motifs. Ex.
