Constantinople Commemorative (ca. AD 330-340). AE3 or BI nummus (17mm, 11h). NGC AU. Arles, 1st officina, AD 334, struck under Constantine I to commemorate the moving of the Roman capitol from Rome to Constantinople. CONSTAN-TINOPOLIS, laureate, helmeted bust of Constantinopolis left, wearing imperial mantle, seen from front, scepter in left hand over shoulder / Victory standing facing on prow, head left, transverse scepter in right hand, left resting on grounded shield; Christogram in left field, PCONST in exergue.
