Description

Elizabeth II "Small Beads, Blunt 5 - Coin Alignment" Dollar 1965 MS63 NGC, Royal Canadian Mint, KM64.1. Type 2 Small Beads, Blunt 5 variety minted in extremely rare coin alignment. The last time we had the privilege of handling an example of this famed rarity of modern Canadian coinage was in August 2019 when the specimen from George Hans Cook collection realized $18,000. The Cook example is presently the only one certified in PCGS's census, and similarly, just one can be located at NGC (this coin). Charlton suggests just five are known extant, lending further gravity to the current offering. The selection at hand is in solid Choice state of preservation, featuring a gentlest dusting of frost on the Queen's effigy contrasting against the lower-lying canvas. The reverse depicts the iconic Voyageur in commendable clarity against the shimmering field. Overall, the importance of this opportunity for the dedicated collector cannot be overstated, and we anticipate fierce bidding activity as this tremendously rare piece crosses the block.
