Description

Charles III silver "Pachuca y Real del Monte Proclamation" Medal 1761 MS61 NGC, Grove-K-41, Medina-98, Betts-485. 45mm. By F. Cassanova. Bust of Charles III right / Standing draped figure of Diana with head to left and several proclamation medals falling from raised right hand, left hand holding ouroboros encircling flag upon spear, mountain in background. Commemorating the Proclamation of Charles III, King of Spain and the Indies, at San Miguel on April 19, 1761. A rare, early Proclamation type featuring an incredibly high relief and well-detailed bust of Charles III on the obverse. Somewhat lustrous and only very lightly handled. An exciting opportunity for the collector of Mexican Proclamation medals. HID09801242017 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
