James I Shilling ND (1623-1624) MS64 NGC, Tower mint, Lis mintmark, KM59, S-2668. 5.85gm. An extremely dignified example of this "Sixth bust" James I emission, notable for the long and curly hair of the monarch, displaying with vivid detail in the central design areas. The slate-gray patina accompanied by mauve accents is pitch-perfect, possessing both old-word charm and yet also remnants of original glossy brilliance.
