Description

Victoria gold "Shield" Sovereign 1853 MS66 NGC, KM736.1, S-3852C, Marsh-36. W.W. raised. Young head Victoria Sovereigns at the 66 level are a rare treat for the dedicated specialist. This example is a superb golden yellow example with strong satin resplendence and a paucity of surface contact. Presently unsurpassed on the PCGS census of 130 certified examples, and bested by just two pieces at NGC among a 347-strong graded population there.
