George II gold 2 Guineas 1748 MS62 NGC, KM589, S-3669. A surprisingly elusive type in any conditional assignment, with our firm having only handled two examples in as many decades, with the single and 5 Guinea denominations much more plentiful. An outlier in overall quality, awash in cascading golden luster that enlivens the subtle apricot silhouettes throughout. Seemingly deserving of a Choice designation, we note only a single finer occupant between both censuses, and with this in mind, expect the quality-conscious collector to take keen interest.
