Insurrection gold 14 Florins 1790-(b) MS62 NGC, Brussels mint, KM51, Fr-402 (Belgium), NBBR-8. Quite elusive with only 3,805 pieces struck during the heady days of the Brabant Revolution that sought to protect local autonomy in the face of mounting Habsburg pressure. A peculiar denomination, particularly when considering that this was the only gold type issued during the insurrection. A deep, autumnal gold pervades the entirety of the planchet with full articulation of the eleven provincial shields. Although minor wisping is evident, it does not obstruct the viewer's gaze, as this retains a pleasing Choice aura. A showpiece for an enthusiast of siege coinage.
