Casascius brass Unloaded ("Demo") 1 Bitcoin (BTC) 2011 MS64 PCGS, Ahonen-pg 91. Total Issued: Unknown. Series 1. Type UF. 28.5mm. Firstbits 15eTzCSj. An important artifact of physical cryptocurrency history, and one that on a quick glance is the first of its kind to make an appearance in a public auction. According to Ahonen's research, Casascius creator Mike Caldwell sold these experimental 'demo' pieces as an optional add-on to purchasers of the actual, loaded coins. These coins were never funded, and their sole purpose was to demonstrate the honeycomb effect of the hologram once peeled. While the exact numbers issued are unknown it is safe to assume they are extremely rare, and we anticipate heightened attention from the dedicated collectors at the auction block.
