For those familiar with these imitation Cobs, this is a coin that shouldn't be. From an issue which is frequently encountered holed, clipped and/or heavily circulated, the present offering is a true survivor. Virtually free of circulation wear, the old dove patina displays ample depth. The strike was balanced and well-centered, rendering the majority of devices to their fullest. An impressive representative of this scarce denomination, by far the finest imitation Cob handled by us, likely to engage advanced Spanish Colonial type collectors.
