5-Coin "Princess Louisa" Reales Issues ND Shipwreck Clump Genuine NGC (photo-certificate), 21.64gm. Salvaged from the "Princess Louisa" (sunk in 1743 off the Cape Verde Islands). A fascinating clump with at least five coins (though COA states four), all fused in concretion with shells and buck-shot from old firearms. The East Indiaman Princess Louisa was doomed by unexpected currents and imprecise charts which led it to a reef off Isla de Maio on April 18th, 1743. Though some of the crew escaped to safety on the nearby island, no cargo could be saved. HID09801242017 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
