Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1769 NR-V MS62 NGC, Nuevo Reino mint, KM41, Restrepo-M71.14. A spectacular offering of this rare assayer issue, wherein every reference notes it as "Rare." Undeniably Mint State, with exciting luster that sweeps the fields in cartwheel fashion, boldly struck-up detail across the raised elements, and a massive, satin-sheathed flan that is beautifully toned to a golden-blonde color. Upon closer inspection, the strike is only slightly misaligned, with nearly the whole of the design making it onto both sides, save for the missing denticles on the upper portion of the obverse and reverse. Additionally, arching die cracks are observed throughout the legends, as are minor wisps across the King's effigy. Altogether superb, with an incomparable pedigree lineage and an impressive, unmatched certified quality, sure to bring significant interest from collectors of this extremely scarce type. Ex.
