Description

Pedro II gold 10000 Reis 1839 AU58 NGC, KM451, Russo-620. Mintage: 567. Impressively struck and reflective in the fields with orange and reddish tone encircling the peripheries--elevating eye appeal and adding significant character throughout. Highpoint friction is barely noticeable on this low-mintage date and the key to the "child head" series. Our research indicates that this type is rarely available in the marketplace, with the only other example we were able to trace having appeared in a group lot within the incredible Norweb collection. This particular coin was sold in our 2014 NYINC auction, where it hammered for an impressive $26,000. An altogether incredible specimen, absolutely worthy of bidder attention. Ex.
