Gratian (AD 367-383). AR miliarensis (22mm, 4.14 gm, 10h). NGC (photo-certificate) MS 4/5 - 3/5. Antioch, AD 367-375. D N GRATI-ANVS AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Gratian left, seen from front / GLORIA ROMANORVM, Gratian standing facing, in military dress, head right, transverse spear in right hand, globe in left; all under arch, ANT* in exergue. RIC IX -, cf. 29c (different obverse legend break and rosette-diademed). Well struck with incredible eye appeal and deep cabinet toning. From the Morris Collection.
