Description

Nicholas I Proof 25 Kopecks 1836 CПБ-HГ PR63 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, KM-C166.1, Bitkin-276. Obv. Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle in beaded circle. Rev. Crowned date and value in wreath. Mottled russet, gold, and argent-gray patina over surfaces displaying only minor hairlines. The strike is superb and the fields deeply mirrored. This extreme rarity boasts an impeccable pedigree and is the only Proof example of the date we can reference. The rarity is further strengthened by noting that it is also the single Proof example certified by NGC and PCGS combined. Ex. Ernst Otto Horn Collection.
