Description

Wilhelmina I silver Matte Proof 2-1/2 Gulden ND (1890-1948) PR65 NGC, Utrecht mint, KM-Unl., Schulman-793. Stylized and profound in part Art Deco part Modernistic form, with the lion and sword motif on the obverse splitting the denomination, the 1/2 placed inside a rounded 2 on one side, and a rounded G on the other. On the reverse, a large crown tops the W of Queen Wilhelmina. Coarsely textured throughout, a gentle flair prismatic tone adds further character to this already uncommon crown. No contact marks are seen and quite rare as a type. From the Seki Collection
