Description

Franz Joseph I 2 Taler 1857-A MS62 NGC, Vienna mint, KM2246.2, Wreath points between "AI" of Kaiser in legend. A captivating example of this popular type struck to celebrate the opening of the Vienna-Trieste Railway. The specimen displays rich argent tone throughout, with a darkening effect embracing the devices, emboldening the lighter raised portions. A fitting commemorative for a new age of commerce and industry, especially appealing when encountered in Mint State.
