SELEUCID KINGDOM. Demetrius II Nicator, first reign (146/5-138 BC). AR tetradrachm (28mm, 15.80 gm, 10h). NGC Choice VF 4/5 - 1/5. "Antioch on the Persian Gulf", 145-144 BC. Diademed head of Alexander I right, diadem ends falling straight behind; fillet border / BAΣIΛEΩΣ / ΔEMETRIOY, Apollo seated left on omphalus, testing arrow in right hand, left hand on grounded bow with grip marked by two pellets; ΔP monogram in outer left field, HP monogram in outer right field. As described above, Demetrius reused an Alexander I obverse die, but he also reused an Alexander reverse die as well, removing the name Alexander and re-engraving it with his name.
