James II gold "Elephant and Castle" Guinea 1686 AU Details (Cleaned) NGC, KM453.2 (rare), S-3403. A rather presentable example of this elusive issue, made widely popular by the Elephant and Castle beneath James' bust and the accompanying story behind its usage. The lemon-gold surfaces are accented by a lovely amber to bring forth the regality of the piece.
