Yuan Dynasty (Rebels). Xu Shouhui 2 Cash ND (1358) Certified 80 by Gong Bo Grading, Hartill-19.140. 30mm. 8gm. An ever popular 2 Cash issue of Xu Shouhui, and one of two of this type in this very auction, which remains a feat when considering only two have come to market in the last decade. Encrusted but fully legible as is typically witnessed from these types. Xu Shouhui, set in Hubei, established his Tian Wan kingdom in 1351. He casted Tian Qi coins, a title later used again during the Ming Dynasty. Story tells the Board of Works mint of the Ming Dynasty once sent scores of old stock Tian Qi Cash with a puzzling antique appearance. The testing officials were lost trying to explain their origin, eventually realizing the title Tian Qi had existed once before.
