British Colony. Victoria Proof 10 Cents 1863 PR66 S Cameo NGC, KM6.1, Prid-54a. Plain edge. A staggeringly gorgeous example of this elusive minor Proof from early Victorian Hong Kong. Bestowed not only with the covetable and rare Cameo designation, but also awarded with the star assigned to coins exhibiting outstanding eye-appeal. Likely an overdate with '6' in date over '3', although this is speculative as the NGC label is not marked as such. The young Queen's effigy is generously frosted and emerges in stark contrast against the reflective brilliance of field that lashes a flash when tilted in hand. Very desirable in this top grade, and one that is undoubtedly expected to witness enthusiastic bidding activity. Ex. D. Moore Collection HID09801242017 © 2023 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
