Anne Crown 1713 MS65 NGC, KM536, S-3603, ESC-1349. Plumes and Roses in angles. To paraphrase our 2018 entry for this very specimen, it doesn't get better than this. For a type that doesn't appear all too regularly at auction, and in those instances they are at much lesser states of preservation, the piece at hand is a "wonder" example. This is the single finest-graded 1713 Crown seen by either NGC or PCGS by three full points and one of the finest-graded Crowns across the entire Anne series. The large flan befits the unsurpassed quality of the devices, the arms motif appearing particularly expansive and clear on the reverse. Centuries-old luster still glints across the surfaces, and with it, a cabinet patina stippled with cobalt and scarlet hues. Simply inspiring to admire in hand, surely to become a treasure in the collection of its next guardian. Ex.
