NORTHEAST GAUL. The Parisii. Ca. 100-50 BC. AV stater (24mm, 6.97 gm, 3h). NGC XF 5/5 - 4/5. Class V. Celticized head of Apollo right, with wavy hair; double volute before, club below chin, zig-zag line with pellets below truncation / Disjointed and stylized horse galloping left; rosette below, fan-like quatrefoil checkerboard design above. Delestrée & Tache 83. De la Tour 7777. Sills 477. Rare. Reverse die breaks from later die state. Struck on a broad flan with light orange overtones.
