Philip IV Pair of Certified "Transitional" Cob 1/2 Real 1652 NGC, 1) 1/2 Real - VF Details (Environmental Damage), KM-Unl, Cal-579. Monogram on Cross 2) 1/2 Real - Clipped, KM-13, Cal-578. Pillar Type. 1.03gm. A pair of scarce transitional issues following the Great Scandal of the Potosi mint, where a massive corruption scheme was discovered, culminating in the change of the Bolivian Cob's style. Both coins showing surfaces that indicate being salvaged from unknown shipwrecks. Currently the sole pieces graded by NGC from these two scarce types.
