Victoria bronze "Volunteer Movement" Medal 1881 MS64 Brown NGC, BHM-3104, Eimer-1682. 64mm. By N. Macphail. Obv. Crowned bust of Victoria, almost facing. Rev. St. Michael stands at the edge of an island, on which are armed knights, the personifications of England, Ireland, and Scotland, ready to defend a female figure with two children. The sensitively rendered motifs display only the clearest and most well-expressed detail with some carbon spotting. This near-Gem specimen is the highest graded at either service.
