Description

Charles IV gold 4 Escudos 1806/5 Mo-TH AU50 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM144, Cal-1504. A surprisingly scarce fractional gold issue of Charles IV, and the last of which handled by our firm was the AU58 Rudman example offered in 2015. Characteristically crude yet lacking the porosity for which these early 19th century pieces are known to have. Ample residual flash decorates the reverse while ambered silhouettes are apparent throughout, making for a wonderful addition to any Mexican specialist's collection.
