Julius Caesar, as Imperator (ca. February-March 44 BC), with Marcus Mettius, as Moneyer. AR denarius (20mm, 3.89 gm, 1h). NGC Choice VF S 5/5 - 4/5, bankers mark. Rome. CAESAR•IMP, laureate head of Julius Caesar right; lituus and simpulum right in left field / M•METTIVS, Venus standing facing, head left, Victory left in outstretched right hand, transverse scepter in left, left arm resting on shield set on globe; I in left field.
