P. Maenius Antiaticus (ca. 132 BC). AR denarius (19mm, 3.97 gm, 11h). NGC MS 5/5 - 4/5. Rome. Head of Roma right, wearing winged helmet surmounted by griffin crest; barred X (mark of value) behind / P•MAE ANT (MAE ligate, and ANT ligate), Victory driving fast quadriga right, goad and reins in left hand, wreath upward in right; ROMA in exergue. Crawford 249/1. Sydenham 492. Maenia 7. Pearlescent surfaces boasting a firm strike and bold detailing.
