George I gold 1/4 Guinea 1718 MS65 NGC, KM555, S-3638. Scarce one year type and first of the only two dates of this denomination ever minted (the other under George III dated 1762). The nearly fully satiny fields are mercifully free from haymarks, leading to an exceptionally pleasing eye-appeal. Currently only a single example grades higher, turning this into a rare opportunity for an avid Guinea-collector.
