Alfonso XIII gold "Barcelona International Exhibition" Medal 1929 MS66 NGC, 113.60gm. 50mm. By A. Parera. A breathtaking exhibition Medal consistent in artistic quality and preservation to only the finest contemporaries. Sensitively rendered depictions of Alfonso XIII and his wife Victoria adorn the obverse in appreciable relief framed by a raised border of laurels. The reverse is equally as expressive and perhaps a bit reminiscent in sentiment of the Panama-Pacific International Exhibition's commemorative issues from two decades prior. The piece at hand ranks as the only example in gold we've been able to trace and will certainly command a premium consistent with this fact.
