The discerning collector will have seen many "Gothic" Crowns enter the marketplace in recent years as popularity soars for this exceptional, ever-celebrated type. Few, however, will have encountered a piece such as this, a temple-white Choice specimen bearing minimal tone, allowing for full appreciation of the intricate design. Indeed, it is difficult to imagine that this Crown looked significantly different when first struck in 1847, its crisp white surfaces gleaming with considerable reflectivity, only minor contact marks peppering its surfaces.
