SELEUCID KINGDOM. Seleucus I Nicator (312-281 BC). AR tetradrachm (29mm, 16.71 gm, 5h). NGC Choice VF 4/5 - 2/5, edge bend, brushed, scuffs, overstruck. Seleuceia on the Tigris, ca. 300-296 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied before neck / ΣEΛEYKOY-BAΣIΛEΩΣ, Zeus enthroned left, right leg drawn back, feet on stool, eagle in right hand, scepter in left; HMP monogram in left field, ΔI below strut. SC 117.1c. These control marks match an extremely rare Alexander III tetradrachm of the same basic time frame from this rare mint (Price 3784).
