Description

George IV Mule Maundy 3 Pence 1828 MS64 Prooflike NGC, KM-Unl. (cf. KM685.1/KM685.2), S-Unl. (cf. S-3818/S-3819), ESC-Unl. (cf. ESC-2444/ESC-2453). Pairing a Small Head die of 1822 with an 1828 reverse die. An intriguing and apparently unlisted mule specimen, with glistening Prooflike surfaces embellished by die polish lines. The king's portrait is exceedingly sharply rendered and coated in opulent frost. Extremely rare, and certainly a tempting target for an ambitious Maundy coin collection.
