Description

IONIA. Magnesia ad Maeandrum. Ca. mid-2nd century BC. AR tetradrachm (33mm, 16.80 gm, 12h). NGC AU 3/5 - 4/5. Euphemos, son of Pausanias, magistrate. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, wearing stephane, hair tied in knot at back of head, bow and quiver over left shoulder / ΜΑΓΝΗΤΩΝ / EPAΣIΠΠOΣ / APIΣTEΟΥ, Apollo, nude, standing left on meander pattern, laurel branches in right hand, leaning on tripod with left arm; all within laurel wreath.
