Struck in commemoration of the historic Peace of Utrecht, which marked the end of the turbulent War of the Spanish Succession. The clear product of a skilled hand, and among the finest of John Croker's numerous works, the piece displays impressive depth and mastery of detail; Britannia fully rendered, her shield projecting towards the viewer as one hopes to see from such an important Medal. While a handful of 61s have recently come to market to much fervor, those surpassing this level are practically unseen, and, considering none rank more highly than the four 62s, present company included, we anticipate an elevated level of collector interest.
