Maria I & Pedro III gold 3200 Reis 1780-B XF45 NGC, Bahia mint, KM150, LMB-475, Guimaraes-1780-1.1. First year of issue. The inaugural year of this popular type, presenting wholly original surfaces with an antique-gold patina that frames well defined, silhouetted motifs. Though NGC suggests a 80/70 overdate, based on what may be a 7 under the 8 resulting from a re-punched date or a mistakenly engraved 1770 date, the year 1770 itself does not exist within the series, which ran from 1780-1786.
