Palestine Currency Board 5 Pounds 1.1.1944 Pick 8d PMG Extremely Fine 40. A scarcer later date, with excellent colors and appeal. The face retains all originality with bold, outstanding inks. Though there were later dates reported to have been prepared to deal with the large number of counterfeit £5 notes, none were ever issued, and the 1944 notes were the last date variety in circulation. A generally scarce type, this example is highly desirable, as any grade over Extremely Fine infrequently makes its way to public auction.
