Cuba El Banco Espanol de la Habana 50 Pesos 21.2.1870 Pick 14 PMG Extremely Fine 40 Net. Adorned in bright yellow, this handsome, gigantic banknote is very rare across all formats. This example was issued and cancelled, as evidenced by the plethora of overprints and hole punches. The note has been previously mounted (hinged), and shows some ink bleeding which is to be expected due to the sharp point of the fountain pen ink and age of the paper. All notes from this series are seldom seen today, and this is only the third we have offered and it is the single finest graded example currently present in the PMG Population Report. A superb and desirable large format banknote.
