Johan III 2 Riksdaler ND (1587) AU53 NGC, Stockholm mint, Dav-LS572, AAH-20, Bruun-509. 51mm. 58.20gm. An impressive survivor of this large type, precisely struck and depicting evenly rendered motifs, very sharp and bold, dressed in a uniform slate patina. A seldom-seen issue, of which we have located a handful auctioned in the last 20 years, this piece standing as the sole finest certified by either NGC or PCGS.
