Description

Charles IV gold 8 Escudos 1807 Mo-TH MS63 PCGS, Mexico City mint, KM159, Cal-1653. Wholly appreciable in this advanced state of preservation, a quick survey of results from our firm shows the majority of representatives brought to market in recent years almost never rise above AU designations. The current specimen is a clear departure from these recent auction appearances, and, despite central striking weakness that typically plagues the issue, remains fully lustrous and deeply patinated, contributing to a superior eye appeal. Of the 77 straight-graded examples submitted to the major grading services, only a single ranks finer, a fact that will surely contribute to an elevated bidder interest.
