George V gold Sovereign 1924-SA MS61 PCGS, Pretoria mint, KM21, S-4004, Hern-S338, Marsh-288 (R5). A very scarce date struck in a mintage of only 3,184 pieces. Accordingly, examples of this year are considered among the great rarities of South African coinage, making any such selections, particularly Mint State ones, objects of great desire. This piece displays a fair amount of mint bloom and only few wisps that prevented it from a higher grade.
