Victoria Proof 1/2 Crown 1839 PR64 NGC, KM740, S-3885, ESC-2708. Plain edge. Beautifully embellished with a most eye-catching patina, the battleship-gray appearances find themselves pleasingly decorated in prominent reflectivity and a polychromatic periphery. The reverse displays a deep cabinet patina likely the result of long-term storage in an advanced cabinet or even as part of Victoria's delayed 1839 coronation set. Regardless, the appearances endure practically pristine, likely precluded from a coveted gem designation by characteristic handling wisps encountered on so many Proofs of this vintage. Certainly a great rarity when located this fine and problem-free.
