Nero (AD 54-68). AE sestertius (35mm, 29.11 gm, 6h). About XF, tooled. Rome, ca. AD 64. NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP P P, laureate bust of Nero right, aegis over left shoulder / DECVRSIO, Nero on horseback rearing right, couched spear in right hand; soldier on horseback riding right behind, vexillum in right hand over shoulder, S-C across fields. RIC I 167. Impressive detail with lovely mahogany hues. Evidence of tooling, thus ineligible for encapsulation.
