Description

Carl XIV Johan Speciedaler 1824-JMK MS63 PCGS, Kongsberg mint, KM290, Dav-240, ABH-4B. A notoriously grade-sensitive type most typically available around the VF range, and yet here seen unquestionably choice. Showing only minor evidence of the annealing flaws that usually plague the type, the piece positively beams with mint luster, revealing clear golden silhouettes along the devices. To date, we have handled only one representative a point finer, part of our sale of the Grundy Collection in 2009, which brought $5750 at that time.
