João V gold 6400 Reis 1750-R UNC Details (Saltwater Damage) NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM149, LMB-225, Guimaraes-1750-2.2. Second type, italic shield. "REX" variety. The last year of this long-lived issue, represented by a pleasing example with needle-point devices, essentially free of wear, dressed in a matte-like patina that is usually encountered in pieces from the "Clive of India" Shipwreck (sunk in 1755 off South Africa), though the example offered has no shipwreck COA.
