Description

Ferdinand VII gold 8 Escudos 1821 XF Details (Obverse Scratched) NGC, Guadalajara mint, KM161.1, Cal-1748. Plain bust variety. From the chaotic War of Independence period, this scarce emission generally appears in low-to-mid level grades, being virtually collectible in any grade one can get their hands on. A wholly original offering, showing bold and well-defined motifs, with even highpoint wear, dressed in an antique-gold tone that occupies even the assigned mark in front of the bust, leading to believe it's a period scar, perhaps to verify if the coin was regal.
