THRACIAN KINGDOM. Lysimachus (305-281 BC). AV stater (18mm, 8.50 gm, 2h). NGC Choice AU S 5/5 - 4/5, Fine Style. Early posthumous issue of Byzantium, ca. 281 BC. Diademed head of deified Alexander III right, with horn of Ammon / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, Athena enthroned left, Nike in right hand crowning name, resting left elbow on grounded shield decorated with floral motif, transverse spear beyond; Π on throne, HYΩ monogram in inner left field, K in exergue. Marinescu 'Early' 10.5bis (this coin). Müller 504 var. (Pella, no exergual mark). Thompson 241 (Pella). SNG Lockett 1247. Perfectly centered and solidly struck from artistic, fresh dies on gleaming surfaces.
