Description

Hesse-Darmstadt. Ludwig X Taler 1819-HR MS66+ NGC, Darmstadt mint, KM287, Dav-699, AKS-71, Thun-192, Hoffmeister-4178. An exemplar of this scarce, low-mintage one-year type, boasting practically as-struck appearances and featuring not a hint of weakness throughout; each tassel and strand of hair fully articulated and rendered upon the planchet beneath. Waves of brilliance ripple across the surfaces upon inspection, enlivening a pervasive autumnal tone and steel blue accents. Of the dozen or so currently certified between both major grading services, the present example stands atop the rest as the sole finest, a clear conditional and aesthetic outlier for this minimally available issue and worthy of placement within a top-tier cabinet.
