Description

Corvey. Florenz von der Velde Taler 1709-HCH MS62 NGC, Brunswick mint, KM119.2, Dav-2194, Weingärtner-172. An incredibly handsome emission from the famous Benedictine Abbey, and the sole example yet recognized in Mint State status at either grading service, the one other seen by NGC being a VF20. Finely textured over St. Vitus' robe, just light wisping in the fields precludes fully choice certification--and yet the offering fields strikingly choice appeal, with blue and lilac surface tone meeting with golden-peach accents along the devices. Very desirable so fine. Ex. Künker-Herbert Grün Auction 44 (November 2005, Lot 505) From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
