Description

Brandenburg-Ansbach. Alexander 1/6 Taler (20 Kreuzer) 1786 MS66 NGC, Schwabach mint, KM334 (1/4 Taler), Schön-147 (under Bayreuth), Wilmersdörffer-1162 (1/4 Taler), Grüber Collection-4787. Commemorating the centenary of the city of Neustadt-Erlangen. A Prooflike medalet to even the most discerning eye, it is genuinely difficult to believe how this coin has survived essentially untouched for the last 200+ years. Entirely untoned, the surfaces are flush with die polish, with just the smallest flan imperfection around 11 o'clock. Privately purchased from Stack's in August 2007 From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
